I went to Red Lantern at the Solaire Resort & Casino in Parañaque last 16 Apr 2019 for the first time. I went there by myself because the people I invited weren’t able to join me.

Don’t laugh at me, but it was also my first time using the Grab App. I made my credit card as my primary payment method. It was very convenient to go from point A to point B, but it was also very expensive for me.

Grab: WCC > Solaire Grab: Solaire > WCC

I shouldn’t have had my dinner and eaten Chinese fried rice at the office because this really messed up my appetite. I wasn’t really hungry anymore when I was at Red Lantern. I paid 1,088.20 PHP (21.04 USD) which includes fees and taxes already. It’s worth the price. Just make sure that you go there really hungry to be able to eat a lot!

I was already at Red Lantern about an hour and a half before the Dim Sum Lunch Buffet starts (11:30 AM to 02:30 PM | Monday to Friday). I was waiting while there were a lot of foreigners at the casino gambling away their money.

I also killed some time by rewatching the video that inspired me to go to Red Lantern in the first place. The free and unsecured WiFi of Solaire that has a captive portal was very slow (about 4 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload). My cellular data (LTE) which is more secure is way faster.

Just to set your expectations, not all the food you see on the YouTube video by Mike Chen of Strictly Dumpling are part of the buffet. Some that were à la carte are more expensive (for example, the ‘Dong Po style’ pyramid pork belly costs 1,780 PHP (34.43 USD)).

Here are some of the photos I’ve taken when I was there. I didn’t take photos of all the food I was able to get because I was really tired and dizzy. I just want to go home and sleep.

I regret eating at the office. I could’ve eaten way more than what I’ve eaten at Red Lantern if only I fasted for at least 15 hours before eating at the buffet. Remember, fasting first before feasting! Don’t forget that! If only I wasn’t so stupid. I’ve learned my lesson. I won’t repeat the same mistake when I go to Sambo Kojin and Vikings. Also, shame on me for not knowing how to use chopsticks. :(

I made the reservation (table for 1) by calling their Customer Service Hotline at +632 8888 8888 one day before going there.

They are also open on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays (10:30 AM to 02:30 PM), but it’s more expensive (1,388 PHP plus fees and taxes | 26.84 USD plus fees and taxes).

It might seem like this post is sponsored by Red Lantern, but it’s not. How I wish it was sponsored by them. I paid for it with my blood, sweat, and tears.

Lastly, I know I have a really big appetite because yesterday I was craving for pizza, and I bought two boxes of pizza from Pizza Hut for myself. It’s all gone now.
